Scrapbook Challenge

leave a comment »

Just started scrapbooking 3 days ago, and I’ve got a few people commenting about it. From there, I found out about the scrapbooking challenge that Karen is having. It’s not a competition of any sort… just to let her know the scrapbookers out there for her to compile a list and then hopefully get to know each other later on.

Hate to admit, but I’ve not scrapped about myself before. And ever since I’ve got kids, there’s no ME photos anymore.

New found hobby: Scrapbooking

with 2 comments

Recently, I’ve got myself a new hobby… creating digital scrapbooking. I’ve been meaning to do it few months back, but was too lazy to install Adobe Photoshop. Just last Sunday, I quickly install the s/ware and started to create. But then, I was stumped! Reading Jazzmint’s tutorial sounds so simple, but why can’t I do it then ? With Jazzmint’s help, I realized that I’ve got to download scrapbooking kits, which consists of a lot of different backgrounds, letterings and embellishments.

Now that I’ve downloaded some, I’ve started to get things rolling. Check out my digital scrapbooking:

My weekend – Pie’s big day & Pea’s monthly jab

leave a comment »

It was Pie’s birthday weekend. We celebrated with my side on Sat, and hubby’s side on Sun. She’s still a kid, and I will still continue giving her birthday parties… only that it will not be an elaborate occasion, just a family gathering, nice enough.

Though it was supposed to be a joyful weekend, I ended up being sick. On top of it, I still have to struggle to bring Pea to her monthly jab and take care of both kids. Nevertheless, I got to see Lay and her kids… walau weh… both kids so chubby… cute but chubby 🙂  Siao Jie didn’t smile at me at all 😦 Initially her sister didn’t also, but after playing for a while, she in the end gave me a broad smile…

Had a last minute call from the bakery, telling me that the chocolate banana cake I ordered was not good to go, thus had to change to another cake. I was kinda pissed off, and when she asked whether I can go for other cakes, I answered her “My kid wants chocolate cake only. You tell me what you have”. In the end, I chose the Swiss Black Forest, still because of the chocolate cake. Luckily this time around it turned out better than last year… because of that incident, I’ve not bought any cakes from that bakery… can’t remember whether I even stepped into that shop anymore or not.

Sunday was supposed to go to the developer to get the house keys (yeahoo! my house is finally ready), but the banking stuff took up most of the time and by afternoon, I had a splitting headache. So we ended up staying at home (but I still didn’t sleep), and went out in the evening for dinner.

The coming week will be taxing again, as I have a lot on hand and due in 1 weeks time. Oh well, with Pie’s big day over, at least I can manage to do overtime… have to finish up before my colleague goes off for her holiday…

Family friendly restaurant

leave a comment »

We’re planning to bring Pie and Pea (as well as PIL) out for dinner this Sunday, to celebrate Pie’s big day. Usually we tend to go to shopping complexes for dinner (places like 1U / Subang Parade / Midvalley). This time around, I wanted to do something different… meaning try new things lar.

So was thinking of looking for a new restaurant whereby it is children / family friendly… bear in mind that I’ve got 2 kids in tow… with a big pram along… Anyone have good suggestion ? It definitely has to be around Klang Valley… Cannot afford to go outstation…

Digital Camera

with one comment

Hubby finally agreed to getting a new digital camera. I know I have a few reasons as to buying a new one… which are:

  1. Whenever I want to take pix of my girls, the camera is alwiz not around (I tend to blame hubby for taking the camera to his office… even when he didn’t do so now)
  2. The camera is super old (if not mistaken, it’s about 4 – 5 years old)
  3. The camera loading is super duper slow… (don’t know due to what, but it’s giving me good reasons for getting new one)

So, anyone can tell me what’s the difference between all the numerous digital cameras out there ? I’ve got Cybershot at one end, and IXUS / Powershot at the other end. I’m still standing in the middle of the ring, but hubby is going to the Cybershot end as well (his comments were “Sony better!”)… Pls. give me good reasons for supporting it… Pros & Cons…

Singapore… we came, we conquered, and we left…

with 2 comments

Family went to Singapore (except poor lil’ Pea, coz she’s too young and hubby didn’t allow her to go) during last weekend. It has been 1 1/2 years since the last time we went there, thus it’s time to make another trip there.

This time around, we didn’t go to many places… made a trip to Singapore Zoo, seafood dinner at Ang Mo Kio (one of the Food Courts) and shopping @ IMM.

Singapore Zoo
Costing us S$ 70 (3 adults, 1 kid), we managed to see the parrot, camel, sleepy wolf, cutey polar bear (just too cute to get over it), white tigers (another sleeping animal), giraffe, zebras, hippo’s butt (not kidding) and lots more (you just have to see it for yourself). Managed to catch the sea lion show and elephant bathing show. Overall, Pie enjoyed the trip so much, though she walked most of the time (not counting the time we took the tram).

Dinner @ Ang Mo Kio
We had seafood dinner at Ang Mo Kio (not too sure if it’s called Mellben Seafood, as per all the reviews I’ve found online, but sounds familiar), together with Nancy’s family. Nevertheless, dinner was quite ok… had 3 types of crab (Black Pepper Crab – my fav, Chilli Crab and Crab Mee Hoon – something similar to Fish Head Mee Hoon). Apart from the crabs, we had Black Pepper Pork Ribs, Sambal Kangkung, Vege with Taufu & Prawn, ‘Sek Pan’ Fish, Chicken in Herbs (Yok Choy), and Yam with Scallops (Yum Yum!). Didn’t really like the Crab Mee Hoon, reason being I don’t like milk… Did enjoyed the Black Pepper Crab, which was before Pie made all the fuss of wanting me to carry her.

Shopping @ IMM
On the last day, we managed to squeeze time to go IMM for last minute shopping. My family loves to go to Daiso (a S$ 2 shop), where they can grab a lot of unnecessary useful things. After spending about an hour in there, we went for lunch at Kopitiam, before we headed back to KL.

All in all, had fun and enjoyed ourselves in Singapore, including Pie.
